So, what was our solution?
Installation
The installation included complete refrigeration plant design and installation, including all associated mechanical and electrical services.
Key Capital Plant Included:
Ground level and roof mounted refrigeration plant, adiabatic gas coolers, ventilation systems, leak detection systems, glycol systems, control panels, electrical distribution systems, RDM monitoring and associated pipework, insulation and containment systems.
Freezer Cold Store:
6 x 66kW air coolers operating at -24°C complete with EC fan technology, glycol defrost systems, leak detection systems, ventilation and integrated controls.
Chill / Inbound / Outbound Areas:
Air coolers ranging from 42kW to 55kW serving +2°C operational areas complete with EC fan technology and integrated controls.
Energy Efficiency:
Variable speed driven compressors and pumps were utilised throughout the installation to maximise part-load efficiency and minimise operational energy consumption.
Integrated heat recovery systems were also incorporated to provide warm glycol for defrost, underfloor heating and hot water generation.
Compliance & Safety:
The project incorporated comprehensive CO₂ leak detection, plant room ventilation, roof void ventilation and remote alarm monitoring systems to ensure full operational safety and compliance.
EJM worked closely with all associated trades and contractors throughout the project to ensure smooth co-ordination and successful delivery.
- Objective – Deliver a reliable, energy-efficient refrigeration solution suitable for a demanding cold-chain logistics operation.
- The completed system provides excellent temperature stability, operational resilience and long-term sustainability benefits.
